    Malarone- What is it?

Malarone is a malaria drug that kills the malaria parasite plasmodium. This parasite enters the human bloodstream through the bite of an infected anopheles mosquito. The parasite inhabits body tissues such as liver and red blood cells. The parasite proliferates rapidly, causing the red blood cells to burst. The effect is to affect the growth and spread of the parasite. The drug stops its growth and kills the parasite. If the infection is severe, the doctor may prescribe other malaria prophylaxis to complete the treatment, and prevent the relapse of the infection in the future.

    Duration and dosage

The dosage of the tablets depends on your medical history and health status, the method of treatment or the prevention of malaria and your response to the treatment.

To prevent the disease, it is usually taken once a day at the same time or as directed by your doctor. Therapy should be started one or two days before the visit to the malaria region, and it should be continued during the visit and seven days after leaving the area.

To treat malaria, the usual dosage is once a day for three consecutive days or as prescribed by your doctor. Even if the symptoms improve, Malarone should be taken throughout the prescribed period.

Malarone tablets should be taken with food or milky drinks containing fat. If you vomit within an hour, you should repeat the intake. If you continue to vomit, contact your doctor as soon as possible. Your doctor may prescribe an extra medication for vomiting, or another malaria drug.
