What is Rosacea?

Rosacea, also called “couperose”, is a skin disease in which the veins in the face enlarge. These can be noticed by red spots on the cheeks, chin, nose and/or forehead, which are usually clearly visible. Mirvaso Gel is not only the first, but also the only approved medication that works directly against this reddening of the face, through a new therapeutic approach. The active ingredient brimonidine, a medication from the alpha-blocker group, narrows the blood vessels and promises a significant reduction in symptoms after only 30 minutes. The gel is applied only once a day. In addition, a 12-month long-term study confirms the very good tolerability of the medicine.

Effect and Use

The most typical symptom of rosacea, local facial flushing, is caused by dilated blood vessels. The skin disease can occur in three degrees and is similar to acute acne in the third stage. Many sufferers feel that their quality of life is significantly impaired by the flushing of their faces. The brimonidine-containing gel Mirvaso, promises relief. It ensures that the dilated veins become narrower and the intensity of the red patches clearly subsides.

Dosage and Use

A pea-sized amount is enough to treat the face. Applied once a day in a thin layer, the symptoms subside within half an hour. The available Mirvaso Gel offers a fast and easy application with long-lasting effect (up to 12 hours). In case of late application, please make up the missed dose, but never treat the skin with double the amount.

Mirvaso Gel Experiences

Rosacea symptoms such as swelling, redness or inflammation, are immediately relieved and the effect occurs immediately. The gel cannot cure rosacea however, but contributes to a clear improvement of the skin appearance, which in many patients brings a clear improvement in the quality of life.
