What is genital herpes
Genital herpes is a common health condition that can affect both women and men. It is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that causes herpes sores. It is caused by two forms of herpes simplex virus, respectively HSV-1 and HSV-2. However, the real trigger for genital herpes is the herpes virus type-2. About 16% of people between the ages of 14 and 49 suffer from type 2 genital herpes. In most cases, sexual intercourse is involved.
